The DA (Digital Assistant) device is an inline USB powered processor with call control. Conceived to serve the purpose of providing a hand held method of answering/end calls and muting as well as adjusting volume. It compliments the Encore PRO premium headset family of products for the professional contact center market. Replacing the outdated DA45 the new DA series which includes the pass thru no controls version DA 70 tho the DA 80 with controls and the DA 90 with controls and advanced DSP technology. In conjunction with the Plantronics manager pro app clients are now able to collect real time data and monitor calls via software. The program took over 12 months to develop with great care taken to select a high quality vendor able to execute the original design intent. Normally not the job of a designer I took particular interest in working with the tooling engineers to influence the procurement group in selecting the right manufacturer. Every detail was painstakingly thought out, developed and tested. I worked with ergonomists and mechanical engineers to develop the perfect tactile button feel and visual display. I was able to overcome many challenges by simply learning more and communicating better.
