Developed as a mid-tier category product; the BBGO 810 is a ground up new design borrowing design elements from the 600 and Pro headphones. The objective was to get to market quickly with a fresh design that was still familiar enough for the aspirational buyer looking to upgrade. For this reason it was important to maintain a similar UI design and button control layout. Being a high volume runner it was important not to over feature it for complexity reasons as well as adding cost. Given the tough competition sound quality needed to be on par with the Pro2 in terms of frequency response and acoustic noise cancellation performance. I collaborated extremely closely with the human factors group and engineers and were able to improve the comfort and fit significantly. I also carefully created and guided the design through early development. Many prototypes were explored and tested. The design was taken to mid-phase development before being completed for production by the development team.
The BBGO 810 is currently on sale and receiving many acclaims for comfort, value and performance.
